![[3rd_winter.png]] ## History In year 342, 3rd Winter's military sciences academy contracted the legendary mycologist of the [[Lion Lands]], [[Old Man]], to create a new kind of [[mushroom]] for them, one whose powers could be curated at the time of consumption rather than fixed in the mushroom itself, such as was the case for the elementary class mushrooms used by the [[Imperial Troopers]]. When he fled with the mushrooms he'd created, the administration hired nationless bounty hunters [[Yuzu]] and [[Eithan]] to track him down. But in year 344, after finding him, they absconded with him instead of turning him over. Their search for Old Man concluded when his corpse was discovered in the remains of the train incident in [[Sherman]] in [[elder's path 4]].
